 Born in Illinois on June 5, 1881. Wheeler worked in St Louis before moving to southern California in 1918. He studied at Scripps College while living in Glendale. He later settled in San Luis Obispo where he remained until his demise on January 17, 1968. His works include desert landscapes of the area around Palm Desert and coastals.
