| Mess, Evelynne Bernloehr (Oil)After her husband died on June 24, 1962, Evelynne fulfilled their dream of running an art school. By 1967 the school, called Oxbow Acres, was holding classes annually from May through October. Courses included painting, drawing, silk screening and metal enameling, but the emphasis was on printmaking. The school operated until 1980 when the property was sold. Evelynne also served as Director of the Brown County Art Gallery Association from 1962 to 1964 and again from 1969 to 1971. |
